1. No account, no sign-up

Oremos has no accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your email, phone number, a password or any credential. The name you enter in the app is used to greet you and is also the name shown on your Community posts (except those you post anonymously), so it is stored on our server, linked to the device identifier. You can use just a first name, or any name, and change it in Profile.

2. Device identifier

The first time you open the app, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. It is not your phone's identifier and it is not linked to your identity: it lets us know that an intention you published is yours, enforce the daily usage limit of “A Word for you”, and honour the users you have blocked. So that nobody else can act in your name, the app also opens an anonymous Supabase session (no email, no password) that proves to the server the identifier is yours. If you delete your data or uninstall the app, the identifier and the session are gone and cannot be recovered.

3. What never leaves your device

Your journal — including your mood and the prayer it relates to — is stored only on your phone. We do not send it anywhere and we cannot read it. The same is true of your personal intentions (Oremos +), your tree and garden (days of prayer), your reminders and your preferences.

Earlier versions of the app stored the journal on our server. When you update, those entries are pulled down to your device and deleted from the server.

4. What does leave your device

Data Why Processor
Intentions and comments you publish in the Community, under the name you choose or anonymously To show them to other users. They are public inside the app. Supabase, Inc. (EU)
The name you choose, the device identifier and the anonymous session To show your name on your posts, and to make sure only you can post, delete or block in your name Supabase, Inc. (EU)
Reports and blocks Content moderation, required by the app stores Supabase, Inc. (EU)
“A Word for you” answers you report (only the generated answer, never what you wrote), and the reason you give when cancelling Oremos + To review inappropriate answers and improve the app Supabase, Inc. (EU)
The text you write in “A Word for you” Sent only to generate the response. It is not stored — not by us, not in our logs — unless you choose to save it to your journal. Groq, Inc. (USA)
The intentions and comments you post in the Community Automatic translation for people who read in another language. The translation is stored with the post and deleted with it. Groq, Inc. (USA); Supabase, Inc. (EU)
A daily usage count, tied to the device identifier A fair daily limit on that same feature Supabase, Inc. (EU)
Usage events (screens opened, prayer completed, subscription started or failed). Never the content of what you write. To understand what is used and what is broken Mixpanel (EU servers)
Usage events (first use of each day, visits to and taps on the subscription screen, turning on the daily reminder), tied to the device identifier. Never the content of what you write. To count active users and understand interest in Oremos + LogLite (our own service, hosted by Vercel, Inc., USA)
Crash reports: error type and message, technical stack trace, operating system (iOS or Android) and the device identifier. Never the content of what you write. To fix crashes LogLite (our own service, hosted by Vercel, Inc., USA)
Subscription status and an anonymous purchase identifier To know whether your Oremos + is active, and to restore purchases. When you use “A Word for you”, the anonymous purchase identifier is sent to our server to confirm the subscription with RevenueCat. RevenueCat, Inc. and the store (Apple or Google)

5. Payments

Oremos + is billed by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive or see your payment details. All we receive is the fact that a subscription is active, tied to an anonymous identifier. If you write to us about a payment problem, your message includes that identifier — it is what lets us find the purchase, since there are no accounts.

6. Advertising and profiling

There is no advertising. We do not sell or share data with advertisers, we do not build commercial profiles, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. We use usage analytics (Mixpanel and LogLite) and crash reporting (LogLite) solely to maintain and improve the app.

7. Transfers outside the EU

Groq (USA) processes the text you send in “A Word for you”, solely to produce the response, and the text you post in the Community, solely to translate it. Vercel (which hosts LogLite) and RevenueCat may process data outside the EU. These transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Mixpanel is configured for the EU region.

8. Retention

What you publish in the Community stays until you delete it. Your journal stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Reports are kept for as long as moderation requires. Usage events and crash reports are kept for up to 12 months. The text you write in “A Word for you” is not retained.

9. Deleting your data

In the app: Profile → Delete all data. This deletes the intentions and comments you published, your blocks, your name, the device identifier and the anonymous session, and clears everything stored on your device (journal, garden, plans, reminder and name). You can also delete journal entries one by one in the Journal, or uninstall the app. You can also write to us at oremos.pt@gmail.com.

10. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. As there are no accounts, we may need the device identifier in order to locate your data. You may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).

11. Children

Oremos is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

12. Security

All communication uses HTTPS/TLS.

13. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will say so in the app. See also the Terms of Use.
